PILOT was not born in a lab. It was born out of my own overload.

The problem

For over twenty years I ran a treasury company. I worked with banks, corporates, and financial institutions across the DACH region. I know what it means to run a business where every decision matters and every missed email costs money.

Along the way I started an investment company — backing startups as a business angel — and then, still during the treasury years, an AI innovation company. At the peak, all three ran at once. My world was six email accounts, Teams, WhatsApp, back-to-back meetings, and a stream of information that never stopped growing. I was drowning in exactly the kind of noise that makes smart people miss important things. I dropped balls I didn't even know I was carrying — a promise here, a follow-up there. Not decisions. Coordination.

And the cost wasn't only professional. The coordination layer doesn't switch off at dinner. It circles in your head at 21:00, on the weekend, on the walk with the dog. My family got the tired version of me; the open loops got the rest.

The realization

What I needed was a chief of staff. Someone who reads everything, connects the dots, and tells me what matters before I ask. But a good human chief of staff costs $150K a year or more. For a founder running three companies at once, that math does not work.

So I asked a different question: what if AI could do this? Not a chatbot. Not another tool that adds to the noise. A system that actually carries the coordination layer for you.

The build

I come from an electrical engineering background. I have been building things my entire career. When I saw what large language models could do, I knew it was possible to build a system that understands context, connects information across channels, and delivers clarity instead of complexity. Eventually I shut down the treasury company and went all in: today I focus purely on AI, alongside the investment work.

PILOT is the result. It reads my mail, listens to my meetings, captures my voice notes, logs my decisions, and builds a knowledge graph of my entire world. Every morning it briefs me: one big move, at most seven items. Nothing else. I run it on my own life, in production, every day — and a small number of private clients run it on theirs.

The real payoff is not a longer done list. It's that the evenings end quietly. Nothing circling in my head. The family gets the evening — and so does the dog.
